The Makerzoid UK team recently attended an exclusive, invitation-only session at the Beyond Blocks Innovation Lab. Experienced robotics students gave our kits a proper test drive and shared their expert feedback.
The Makerzoid United Kingdom team recently spent a very special evening at the Innovation Lab, hosted by our partners at Beyond Blocks. We were invited down to an exclusive, invitation-only session designed for advanced students who are already well-versed in the world of robotics.
The main goal of our visit wasn’t just to showcase our products, but to give these future engineers full creative freedom to get hands-on with Makerzoid systems, put them through their paces, program them, and thoroughly explore their capabilities.
A Real Test Drive and Rigorous Analysis
The students explored a range of different kits before writing up structured feedback reports on their experience. They took a highly critical and analytical approach, looking closely at:
Engineering solutions and system flexibility;
The programming environment;
Build quality and overall system design.
The founder of Beyond Blocks and the lab coordinators noticed a fascinating shift in how the students engaged with the products. Thanks to their genuine robotics fluency, they stopped seeing Makerzoid as just “another robot kit.” Instead, they immediately began comparing systems, noticing design decisions, compromises, strengths, limitations, and new possibilities. This represents a completely different, much deeper level of learning!
An Impressive First Impression and Future Steps
The leadership team at the lab also shared their own first impressions, noting that they were genuinely surprised by just how much is included in our kits given their highly competitive and accessible price point.
